Leisure details..

My target audience will be involved with these type of leisure activity's, events. Not saying all of my target audience will do these things. But is most likely they are involved in these more than once every fortnight.

Sports and Fitness
Sports and fitness are Hobbies my target audience will engage with, as most people that I know and see at a gym are all around the age 18 – 25 both male and female. I ask people why they go to places like the gym they say 'it makes them feel better about themselves, more confidant and it also realises happy emotions and relieves stress'. Sports are other hobbies which also do the same, this is a lot more social that helps meet new people and working together as a team or supporting as a team/crowd. A lot of money is spent in sports and fitness as some people watch big football games etc for pride, abroad etc and people spend a lot of money on gym memberships for help in their appearance, physical and mental health.

Entertainment/Food

My target audience will also be a fan of TV/Entertainment and food. This gives them time to relax or burn off some steam. They will spend most of their hard earned wage on both of these. For example lots of people 18-25 go out for meals, as it gives them time to relax and not worry about cooking for themselves they see this as a treat and a enjoyable social activity, maybe on dates or with friends, family etc. Also things like the cinemas, crazy golf, Ice skating, swimming are also hobbies which my target audience will enjoy, giving them a buzz and a sense of fun. In and around these places my work could be seen their places they attend week in week out.

Music

Music plays a huge part in everybody's lives, it plays with emotion, rage, relief, fun, sports. Music is one thing i know all my target audience enjoy as there is so many styles to suit certain people. My target audience will involve themselves with music more than several times on day to day basis and spend a lot of money and their own time into music. They engage with music by going to clubs/bars where music helps create an environment where people can have fun. They also link to music when they buy a CD or download a song, This makes you feel happy and you’ve found something new. my target audience will also love going to live gigs etc, seeing new and favourite bands with their friends which will help create great memories.

Sicksytems....Company

These are a few examples of work that my chosen design company Sicksystems, have produced i am really inspired by the designs seen here, they relate to the style im trying to create in my work. The bold, contrasting colours make the work really fun to look at, but is quite simple but unusual as it is not that boring as some work would be

.

People?? Where??

As i found out from my Brief my target audience is people aged 18-25, i started to look into the type of people that would be viewing my work.

Where i began to understand from looking at photos that my target audince were fun, energetic students, trade person's, office workers, that kind of style of work for young people. My target audience would see this work mainly in big cities/towns across the Uk, places where the university is very successful and lots of students love going there.

After realising the kind of target audience i am working with i started to look into the enviroments they work and live in, and how my work would fit there. The kind of accommodation which my target audience would be living in would be rented flats/apartments, student flat/houses. As they will not earn will not be earning enough income to afford their own house. The work that I produce may be seen in places like the reception of the flats etc in this surrounding area where it would be seen every day by my target audience.

Colour me in.

Colours that i use in my work are just as important as the actual image itself, Each color i use can speak a silent message to people and colors have a different message within each culture. Choosing the correct colours for my work, could result in a clearer understanding and greater message given to the visual reader.

i found an article, written by Maureen Stone about
Choosing Colors for Data Visualization. Which helped me gain more knowledge into the way colour is best gained in Information design and how i could relate this to my work.

Colour is very important throughout graphic design its the first thing we see when looking at design. Colour can be helpful but also be a disaster depending on how the designer takes advantage of colour in there work.

**These are a list of websites i will be using to help me choose my colour palette and choose the correct contrasting colours**

Icons can be so differant, yet mean the same thing.

These are group of icons that all used to represent the 'Internet' visually. even though some of them are completely different they are still recognised and used for the same purpose.

Ikon

Iconography 2 is a book that really inspired me through the style shown, when thinking about information design and graffiti, the work in this book, seemed as linked to them both, like a style that is well balanced in between them both. As so is the likes of sticker graphics which i also find influential. The icon graphics found in this book are very vector based very simple but bold and fun. I feel this kind of work would be perfect to grab my target audience eye.

Here are some examples what the book had to offer which i found interesting.
These Kind of Icons remind me of pictogram's, which are used in information design, this style of work looks more fun and appealing to the ones used in info design. i think working with these style of icons in my work could really help grab peoples eye.

Signage Systems & Information Graphics

This is the book that i looked into to gain an understanding of what information design is about. The book help me realise how the best way is to show infomation through design. It made me understand that the best way to give information is too keep it nice, and simple. the reason for this is it has an equal balence of force. This book also inspired me to the style of work that is actually found in information design and relate that to the work i am influenced by (Graffiti/sticker graphics)which can be a better way of making the information more attractive to my target market.

These are a few images from the book which i found very useful.

I also found out that the text/typography used in Information design are always very bold and eyecatching never anything fancy, For example Helvetica. and also that grids are used to make the information simple as they are used in typography and layout design.

Another Book which i font helpful was a book called Sign Graphics, that made me understand that colour is a good way of getting certian information off, by using bold, contrasting colours to grab attention.

The Way Forward >>>>>

After undertaking possiblitys to my brief, I began research into the type of information design around us, and look at ways that I can connect that to the work that I am inspired by. From doing this It will help work into different outcomes, to make my work as interesting and pleasing as I can. I want my work to be simple but effective with the help from the work i inspire it should be easy to create this to my best possible quality. With it being simple it will have a even balance of force. Not wanting my work to force people to read the information if they don’t want to.

I have also been looking into design componies and the works they produce and came across The Sicksystems. The work they produce is very inspiring and relating to the research i have been looking at.
